Job description

This position works directly with the maintenance + carpenter trades staff to maintain the operating standards of the building complex. In addition, this position will interface with contractors, decorators and building staff in regard to electrical work within the facility.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in low voltage systems.
  • Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters and familiarity with NEC standards for safe electrical practices.
  • Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience working on renovation projects or within construction environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of high voltage systems is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will exercise sound judgment and initiative, with demonstrated experience in low voltage electrical repairs. High school diploma/GED and six years of progressively responsible journeyman-level electrical experience is required; or completion of a four-year IBEW approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance combined with two years of electrical experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be accepted. Knowledge of electrical operations, safety and OSHA standards is critical. This position is part of the bargaining unit represented by IBEW Local 1. Flexibility to work all shifts including days/nights, weekends and holidays is required; along with the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
