JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department to ensure efficient daily operations and positive Team Member experience. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate personnel records, assisting with onboarding and employment documentation, supporting Team Member programs and events, and serving as the primary coordinator for the property's uniform program. The Human Resources Assistant works closely with Team Members, management, and vendors to ensure HR processes are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
SCOPE: The Human Resources Assistant serves as the first point of contact and is expected to handle confidential information with discretion, exercise sound judgment, resolve routine issues, and escalate employee relations, compliance, payroll, benefits, and policy concerns to HR leadership when appropriate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Human Resources Department to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and standards are consistently met.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, including preparing new hire paperwork, system entries, E-Verify processing, and employment documentation.
  • Execute set-up and facilitation of property new hire orientation, BIG Service, and other required training and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain personnel files and employment records in accordance with company standards and retention requirements.
  • Create and distribute Team Member badges, name tags, and access credentials.
  • Assist with pre-employment processes.
  • Maintain HR bulletin boards, communication boards, and Team Member information displays.
  • Execute weekly HR Huddles for the Management team.
  • Manages HR department inventory of office and operational supplies, maintaining established par levels and coordinating replenishment as needed.
  • Work closely with the payroll team and HR Generalist to ensure compliance with company payroll procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, separation, leaves of absence, transfers or promotions using the UKG HRIS.
  • Assist with purchase orders, invoice tracking, and departmental administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the uniform program for the property.
  • Maintain accurate uniform inventory records and monitor stock levels.
  • Distribute, collect, exchange, and track Team Member uniforms using Invotech system.
  • Manage Team Member uniform-related questions and requests.
  • Assists team members with employment verification requests, employment forms, and general HR documentation.
  • Monitors completion of required acknowledgments and training documentation.
  • Effectively maintain KHRC applications, licensing process and distribution of licenses.
  • Other duties as assigned by HR Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
  • Prior experience in an administrative, customer service, or Human Resources support role, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or a related field preferred; candidates currently pursuing a degree will also be considered.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Proficient with various Microsoft products.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
  • Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
