EHV A Lineworker - Transmission - Pike Electric West, LLC is looking to fill twenty-two (22) EHV A Lineworker - Transmission positions in Mineral Wells, Texas and at various worksites throughout Texas to work approximately 10/01/2026 to 05/15/2027. This is a temporary, full-time, peak load position. The period of need includes ramp-up work preceding the peak, during which workers will be mobilizing equipment, staging materials, performing site preparation, and conducting pre-construction activities necessary for EHV transmission line construction. The period of need also includes close-out work following the peak, during which workers will be demobilizing equipment, completing final inspections, restoring worksites, and performing post-construction cleanup activities.
Duties: This is a highly skilled position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage (EHV) electrical transmission systems, including systems operating at 400kV and above. Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized transmission and EHV transmission systems, including 400kV+ circuits. Capable of coaching crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge on transmission and EHV projects. Stringing overhead conductor, including bundled conductors used on EHV transmission lines. Setting lattice towers, poles, structures, foundations, and anchors for high-voltage and EHV systems. Troubleshooting problems on transmission and EHV transmission systems. Frequently works with energized high-voltage and extra-high-voltage systems requiring advanced skill, precision, and strict adherence to safety procedures to protect the lives of themselves and others. Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. Glove, hot stick, and/or bare-hand work on high voltage and EHV transmission lines, as qualified. Identify transmission primary and secondary voltages on standard and EHV circuits. Obtain knowledge in bare hand work and of hot stick work on energized high-voltage and EHV lines. Understanding and reading blueprints, structure drawings, and EHV construction plans. Properly sag conductor, including long span and high-tension EHV sagging operations. Coaching crew in assembly and erection of poles and lattice or monopole structures to all heights. Dead-ending and sagging operations for all conductor types, including EHV conductors. Executing hot line work on conductor systems. Operating digger derrick and equipment used for EHV construction. Pole and tower climbing, including steel lattice and monopole EHV structures. Heavy lifting and rigging for transmission and EHV work. Work with induced voltage, including increased induction common on EHV systems. Enact grounding procedures for transmission and EHV lines. Working at heights and/or confined spaces. Properly installing and removing PPE and EHV-rated cover-up. Climbing different types of structures (wood, steel, lattice, monopole, etc.) and use the necessary tools to do so. Phasing out a line with proper use of phasing sticks on high-voltage and EHV circuits. Identify and locate puller and tensioner setups suitable for EHV conductor installations. Planning safe work based on a job print or work order, including EHV-specific hazards and clearances. Obtain a one shot on a recloser. Enacts minimum approach distance, including extended MAD requirements for EHV voltages. Utilizes flag and tag procedures. Performing basic bucket rescue/escape. Effectively conduct a pre-job or tailgate briefing. Safely perform a reconductoring job, including EHV reconductoring projects. Safely installing and removing mechanical jumpers on high-voltage and EHV systems. Properly inspect rubber goods, cover, and PPE rated for transmission and EHV applications. Follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies. Does all other related work as required to complete the job. Work will be performed at unanticipated locations throughout the Texas counties listed on the certified ETA-9141, depending on project development. If project development requires an employee to work temporarily at a location that is not within a reasonable commuting distance of the primary worksite, 590 Grant Rd. Mineral Wells, TX 76067, the Company will pay the cost of temporary lodging to the extent such costs would reduce pay below the offered wage rate for the area of intended employment.
Requirements: Position requires at least five years of recent transmission line field or related experience. Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required. Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required. Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends and holidays as required for the position. Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather. Able to perform rigorous physical labor. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and/or MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check. For positions involving driving or DOT-regulated work, employees must also pass a DOT physical including drug screening.
Terms & Conditions of Employment: Full-time - at least 40 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, 10 to 12 hours per day. Hours and days may vary depending on weather conditions, project requirements, and workload. Workers may be required to work on Sundays and holidays as needed.
Paid bi-weekly, wages calculated each workweek. Workers will be paid no less than $58.01 per hour. Overtime will be paid at 1.5 times worker's regular hourly pay ($87.02 per hour). Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law.
On-the-job training provided. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Lodging: Employees will be responsible for their own lodging. If project development requires an employee to work temporarily at a location that is not within a reasonable commuting distance of the primary worksite, 590 Grant Rd. Mineral Wells, TX 76067, the Company will pay the cost of temporary lodging to the extent such costs would reduce pay below the offered wage rate for the area of intended employment.
Daily Transportation: Daily transportation from the staging area to the worksite is provided at no charge. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to the staging area.

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Reimbursement will be included in first paycheck following 50% completion.
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Subsistence will be at least $16.78 per day of travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with documentation of actual expenses. Employer will provide or pay the reasonable costs for lodging where lodging is necessary.
Employer will reimburse worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the worker.
The employer guarantees three-fourths of the total number of work hours of each 12-week period beginning with the first workday after arrival of the worker or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract.
