As a Host/Hostess, you are the first impression of our restaurant and help set the tone for every guest experience.

Position Summary

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing waitlists, and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient dining experience.

This is a non-exempt position that interacts directly with guests and supports the front-of-house team.

Essential Functions

As a Host/Hostess, you will:

• Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival
• Manage waitlists and provide accurate wait time estimates
• Seat guests efficiently while balancing server sections and restaurant flow
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front entrance and lobby area
• Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries as needed
• Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and management to coordinate seating
• Assist with guest needs, including takeout orders or special requests when applicable
• Maintain menus, cleanliness of host stand, and front-of-house areas
• Follow all company standards for guest service and hospitality
• Adapt to varying responsibilities during shifts based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused mindset
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation

Pay Range: $12.00 per hour – $15.00 per hour

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, location, and business needs.

This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 25–30 pounds
• Bend, reach, and move frequently
• Perform repetitive motions, including handling menus and seating materials
• Work in a fast-paced, high-traffic restaurant environment

Work Environment

This role operates in a full-service restaurant environment with exposure to high guest volume, noise, and fast-paced service conditions. Team members are expected to follow all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
