Schedule: Part-time, 3 days per week
Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a compassionate, grounded, and spiritually-sensitive Chaplain in Huntsville, AL. Our Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during end-of-life care. This role is an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, offering a nonjudgmental presence and care that honors the beliefs, values, and cultural backgrounds of those we serve. As a Chaplain You will:
  • Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families

  • Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications

  • Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree)
  • Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred
  • Comfort in an interfaith setting
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values
  • Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
  • Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group
  • Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
