Job Description

The Grinder is the entry level position in our Extrusion department. As a Grinder, you will utilize standard tools and are responsible for operating the grinding equipment. The grinder role is to ensure scrap and returned product is reground so that it can be recycled and inserted into new product.

This position is a full-time position, on-site at our extrusion plant located at:

2406 I-35 Frontage Road

Gainesville, TX 76240

What can you expect in the Grinder role at Dura-Line?

  • You will operate and maintain grinding area equipment to ensure efficient and safe processing of scrap conduit. 
  • You will monitor product and equipment parameters to meet quality requirements.
  • You will conduct minor repairs and report major problems to production leadership. 
  • You will accurately document ground product dimensions and track weights. 
  • You will coordinate tooling changes and assist with scrap material separation. 
  • You will perform cleanup in the grinding area, including waste disposal. 
  • You will perform all work cautiously, with safety of yourself and fellow team members at the top of mind always.
  • You will help to maintain a safe space for your team to share feedback and ideas for improvements.

    • Day Shift Hours 7:45 am - 8:00 pm (2-2-3 shift rotation)
    • Night Shift Hours 7:45 m - 8:00 am (2-2-3 shift rotation)

  • Your commitment to being a reliable and punctual team player. (Attendance on scheduled workdays is a must!)
  • Your commitment to wearing gloves, eye protection, and steel toe boots always, and dust mask, earplugs, hard hats, and face shields as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workspace.
  • Your ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to push and pull pipe coils.
  • Your ability to work most of the time indoors on the plant floor, with heat, dust, and noise and work some of the time outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Your ability to remain in a stationary, standing position 80-100% of the time. Must be able to squat, bend, or stoop as much as 25% of the time on some days.

"The compensation for this position will typically start at $19.00 an hour plus $1.00 for night shift differential.  The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. 

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
