Job description

You cut hair. We handle the rest.
You never have to build a book, buy ads, chase clients, or wonder if anyone's walking through the door tomorrow. We bring the customers. You bring the skills.

We're a locally owned Great Clips® franchise, and we're hiring licensed stylists and barbers — experienced pros, recent grads, and anyone who wants a real income without the grind of building a clientele from scratch.

What you'll earn:
  • A guaranteed competitive base wage — you get paid it whether the salon is packed or slow. Your paycheck isn't a gamble on foot traffic.
  • Our successful stylists earn $20–$50 per hour in total effective wage — base wage plus productivity, product commissions, and tips.
  • Up to 20% commission on product sales.
  • Additional incentives and bonuses throughout the year.
  • Holiday pay.

What we offer:
  • Health insurance.
  • Up to two weeks of paid time off (accrued).
  • Flexible scheduling — full-time or part-time. Build a schedule that works around school, family, or a second job.
  • Paid ongoing training. Hands-on coaching in the salon plus Great Clips University — we invest in your cutting skills and your confidence, not just your speed.
  • Real advancement. Most of our managers started behind the chair. If you want to grow, there's a path.
  • Steady, high-volume walk-in traffic. Great Clips salons serve over 1,000,000 customers every week. No booth rent. No hidden fees. No self-marketing. No competing with your coworkers for clients.
  • Technology that removes the busy work — Online Check-In, the Great Clips app, and Clip Notes so you know exactly what a returning customer wants.
  • Recognition for the work you actually do, and a team that helps each other instead of competing.

What you'll do:
  • Consult with customers, listen to what they actually want, and make professional recommendations.
  • Shampoo, cut, and style hair for the whole family.
  • Recommend the right products for each customer's hair.
  • Keep your station and the salon clean, safe, and welcoming.
  • Work as part of a team so no customer waits longer than they have to.

What you bring:
  • A valid Cosmetology or Barber license (required).
  • Strong cutting skills, or the eagerness to build them fast. New grads welcome.
  • Genuine customer service instincts — you listen before you cut.
  • Reliability and a team-first attitude.
  • Availability that includes some evenings and weekends.

Why our salons:
We're locally owned and locally involved. Decisions get made by people who are actually in the salons, not in a corporate office three states away. We sponsor local teams and show up in our communities. And we're part of the largest hair salon brand in the world — over 4,400 salons and 40,000+ stylists across North America — so you get small-business support with big-brand stability.

The result: income stability, career stability, and a place where people actually like coming to work.
