Job description

NETA Field Service Technician/Engineer-Electrical Testing/Maintenance

Education & Experience: 
Technical school graduate and or engineering degree
Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience testing and evaluating low, medium and high voltage electrical power systems 
Certified as a NETA or NICET technicians, or equivalent Utility, manufacturer or other technical training
Job Responsibilities:
Read and understand electrical one line drawings
Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems including start up and commissioning.
Inspect, Test, Maintain, Troubleshoot and Repair the following low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution equipment:
 -    Automatic Transfer Switches
-    Circuit breakers
-    Conductors
-    Relays
-    Starters
-    Switchgears
-    Transformers
Perform power system studies such as Short Circuit & Coordination, Arc Flash and Load Flow
Operate an infrared thermography camera, and diagnose equipment accordingly 
Write complete, detailed electronic reports promptly after project completion.
Other Required Skills:
Strong computer skills: including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Effective written and oral communication skills to maintain relationships with managers and clients.
Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time with paid travel time, home on weekends when travel is involved
Required Training:
Certified NETA is preferred
Strong understanding of NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Specifications, NFPA70B and Industry Codes & Standards.
Training in OSHA Electrical Safety and NFPA70E safety guidelines.
Current knowledge of NEC, NFPA-70E, Electrical Classifications, IEEE/ANSI and other applicable design standards and guidelines.
