Job Summary
Part-time position working up to 19 hours per week. Mostly Tuesday-Friday with occasional weekend and evening work. Travel to area schools required (Personal vehicle, carpooling, or rental vehicle).
-Plan and implement hands-on academically engaging programs with P-12 students and adults.
-Planning will include using teacher/program leader requests and/or appropriate Georgia Standards of Excellence to create custom, quality programs designed specifically to meet the needs of each group served. --Most programs are science or environmental based, and planning will be a hands-on, minds-on application of these studies, offering a valuable resource.
-Supervise undergraduate staff in facilitating programs.
-Provide resources to undergraduate staff to assure competency in subject matter and activity implementation
-Act as a resource during programs for questions or concerns
Responsibilities
Event Planning - 20
(Plan activities for programs) Will work closely with the director in planning programs for area schools and programs in the form of field trips, in-school visitations, weekly and after-school programming.
Related Knowledge and Skills: ability to use search engines, creativity, books and other resources to find age-appropriate activities that correspond to Georgia Standards of Excellence and/or teacher/program leader requests.
Outreach - 60
(Facilitate activities for area participants as well as supervise/train undergraduate staff in activities.) Implement programs to P-12 students of Baldwin and surrounding counties as well as some adult programs.
Related Knowledge and Skills: Enthusiasm for subject, must enjoy working with children of all ages, strong work ethic, group management skills
Data Processing & Inventory - 10

Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into "Additional Documents" attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week.
Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.
