Job description

Rushton is one of Northeast Georgia's largest and most respected accounting firms in the region for over 40 years and is seeking an Audit Manager professional in our growing Audit Division.


The Audit Manager works closely with team members across the Firm, including Associates, Senior Associates, Supervisors, and fellow Managers, to deliver high-quality audit and assurance services and build strong, trusted client relationships. This role partners with clients and Firm leadership to navigate audit matters, offer thoughtful insights, and provide practical recommendations that support client operations and goals. The Audit Manager communicates clearly and consistently with both clients and engagement teams, leads audits from planning through completion, supports staff development, and exemplifies Rushton's values through collaboration, integrity, and a commitment to excellent service.


Job Responsibilities


CLIENT SERVICE EXCELLENCE

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and builds trusted, professional relationships with appropriate client personnel
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the client's business goals, strategy, and motivations; serves as a valued business advisor
  • Proactively provides relevant insights throughout the year, including industry developments and accounting guidance, to strengthen client loyalty
  • Manages client, team, and personal expectations effectively across engagements
  • Delegates work appropriately with consideration for engagement economics while supporting team development
  • Oversees engagements to ensure timely completion within scope, budget, and quality standards; keeps the Partner informed of progress, risks, and key issues
  • Performs additional duties as assigned


PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & RELATIONSHIPS

  • Actively participates in Firm initiatives, including recruiting, inspections, and internal and external learning efforts
  • Trains and develops staff through on-the-job coaching and facilitation of internal CPE
  • Provides timely, constructive, and balanced feedback to engagement team members
  • May serve as a Career Advisor and support staff development planning
  • Effectively navigates and leads difficult conversations with clients and team members
  • Demonstrates maturity and professionalism as a role model in client interactions, collaboration, and WorkLife rhythm


PRODUCTIVITY & BUSINESS GROWTH

  • Meets charge hour, margin, and performance expectations
  • Maintains and advances business development goals through intentional relationship management
