Tile Tech is an established, profitable company with 25+ years of experience delivering outdoor and rooftop decking solutions nationwide. We specialize in premium porcelain pavers and integrated pedestal/roof deck systems for commercial and residential projects. Our team is known for strong customer support, practical innovation, and reliable execution from quote to delivery.

Role Summary

We’re hiring a detail-driven Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to manage daily outbound and inbound shipping workflow. This role handles freight coordination, delivery qualification, shipping paperwork, Sage 50 notes and attachments, warehouse coordination, tracking, and customer / carrier communication.

This is not just a clerical role. The right person must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, strong with follow-through, and consistently on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate LTL, FTL, local delivery, will-call, and direct-ship orders
  • Verify shipping addresses and site conditions using Google Maps / Street View
  • Confirm commercial vs residential, dock / no dock, forklift / liftgate, limited access, and appointment requirements before booking freight
  • Request, compare, and organize freight quotes
  • Negotiate with brokers and carriers for best-fit pricing, transit time, and service reliability
  • Enter clear shipping notes and upload documents into Sage 50
  • Print and organize packing slips, packing detail sheets, labels, BOLs, and shipping backup
  • Maintain clean shipment records, notes, attachments, and backup documentation
  • Coordinate with warehouse, customers, carriers, brokers, Accounting, and Orders
  • Follow up on tracking, appointments, PODs, redelivery issues, and freight exceptions
  • Process shipment paperwork and labels using FedEx, UPS, and related shipping systems when needed

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years in shipping, logistics, dispatch, freight coordination, order processing, or operations
  • Experience with LTL / FTL freight
  • Strong Excel, Outlook, and computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple orders and moving parts without losing details
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven office / warehouse environment
  • Experience with Sage 50 / Peachtree, QuickBooks, or another order / invoice system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, or similar desktop shipping software
  • Experience negotiating freight rates and service terms with brokers and carriers
  • Experience with packing documentation, BOLs, PODs, and freight tracking
  • Experience coordinating with warehouse staff, trucking companies, and brokers
  • Experience in building materials, construction products, distribution, or manufacturing is a plus
  • Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus

What Will Make Someone Successful in This Role

The right person:

  • is organized and detail-driven
  • follows through without constant reminders
  • communicates clearly with customers, carriers, brokers, and internal teams
  • keeps notes, attachments, and shipping backup clean and complete
  • catches delivery issues before they become bigger problems
  • can handle pressure without getting sloppy

What Will Not Work

This role is not a fit for someone who:

  • is frequently late or unreliable
  • has weak follow-through
  • cannot keep notes and shipping paperwork organized
  • gets overwhelmed easily by multiple open orders
  • does not communicate well with brokers, carriers, and customers
  • is careless with shipment details, access notes, or freight paperwork

Work Environment

Fully remodeled offices located within our 25,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution center, plus an employee lunch room/break area.

Benefits

  • 401(k)
  • Paid holidays include: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
