Job description

Bartlett Park District is a local government agency that provides 610 acres of beautiful parks and outstanding recreational opportunities for the residents of Bartlett, Illinois and surrounding communities. Major facilities of this Distinguished Accredited Agency and two-time National Gold Medal Finalist includes 44 parks, a community center, indoor aquatic center, outdoor water park, a 9-hole golf course and an 18-hole golf course, event and reception venue, ski hill, athletic field complex, nature center, gymnasium, and more.

JOB SUMMARY: The Seasonal Golf/ Winter Sports Grounds Laborer is responsible for maintaining and landscaping the golf and grounds at Villa Olivia.ย  Also will perform a variety of basic golf and ground maintenance tasks.ย  This is an at-will position. Responsibilities include:

  • Remove garbage from golf course and facilities.
  • Mowing fairways, tees, greens and roughs on a scheduled basis.
  • Rake and clean sand traps on a scheduled basis.
  • Service ball washers and trash receptacles daily.
  • As directed, change cups and relocate tee makers.ย 
  • Mowing and trimming of Villa Olivia grounds.
  • Turf maintenance โ€“ help in seeding and establishing new turf.
  • Landscaping work โ€“ planting, maintaining landscape beds, preparing areas for seed and sod.
  • Ski Hill set up (tow ropes, fencing and enclosures).
  • Snow making.
  • Chairlift & tow rope maintenance and trouble-shooting.
  • Snow removal at clubhouse/parking lot.
  • Additional winter sports season grounds duties as assigned.
  • General cleaning and minor maintenance within facilities.
  • Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.ย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.ย Prior experience in parks maintenance preferred. Must be able to do physical work and able to lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid Illinois Driverโ€™s License and able to provide own transportation.

SCHEDULE & PAY: This is a part-time, seasonal position working 30+ hours per week. Hours are primarily Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm with some weekends and evenings as needed.ย  During the Winter Sports season, schedule will transition to a 3-shift schedule.ย  Anticipated hiring range is between $16.00 - $17.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
