Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Location: Goodyear, AZ

Facility: Junior National Golf Club

Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent

Job Summary

Junior National Golf Club is seeking a driven, team-oriented Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our highly respected agronomy team in Goodyear, Arizona. Initial Priorities

·        Integrate into the team and learn club standards and expectations

·        Become familiar with the golf course layout and unique property features

·        Learn daily course duties, golf operations, and departmental collaboration

Key Responsibilities

·        Assist with daily maintenance planning, crew supervision, and training

·        Oversee irrigation system repairs, maintenance, scheduling, and inventory

·        Assist with and execute fertilizer and pesticide applications, including calibration and record-keeping

·        Monitor and enforce safety procedures and club policies

·        Maintain knowledge of turfgrass maintenance practices and equipment

·        Record and report weather, irrigation, and chemical application data

·        Serve as Acting Assistant Superintendent in the absence of the Assistant Superintendent

Preferred Qualifications

·        Minimum of one (1) year of golf course experience

·        Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, pesticide applications, and golf course operations preferred

·        Arizona pesticide license or ability to obtain within six (6) months

·        Valid Arizona driver’s license

·        Understanding of the game of golf and golf course etiquette

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various conditions

Compensation & Benefits

·        Estimated annual compensation: $55,000 – $60,000 including overtime (based on experience)
