Job description

Juniper Preserve, located in Bend, OR, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Banquet Server! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

SUMMARY
The Banquet Server plays a key role in providing exceptional hospitality at our private events, weddings, and corporate functions. They'll ensure seamless service while maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sets dining tables, buffets, and other service areas according to Banquet Event Order or as directed.
  • Provides attentive food and beverage service throughout events, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Delivers courses, clears tables efficiently, and assists with event breakdown.
  • Maintains a high level of cleanliness and organization in banquet areas.
  • Follows proper food handling and safety guidelines.
  • Works collaboratively with event staff, kitchen teams, and management to execute events smoothly.
  • Ensures the guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating their needs before they arise.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Upholds Juniper Preserve's service standards and hospitality values.
  • Communicates guest requests and concerns to the department manager.
  • Helps to maintain a clean banquet or catering kitchen, coolers, and equipment.
  • Assists in monitoring waste in the banquet or catering area.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Prior banquet, catering, or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry trays, move banquet furniture, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • OLCC and Food Handler's certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Able to pass a drug test and pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company-approved uniform at all times.
  • Must be able to deliver plated food, clear tables, and assist in banquet setup, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases and under the age of 25 for tobacco purchases.
SKILLS
Preferred:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain current Food Handler Card and OLCC Service Permit.
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Local travel may be required in conjunction with Member/Guest events.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
May include both inside and outside shifts
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
