A Weekend Flutter App Developer is a software professional who specializes in building, testing, and maintaining mobile applications using the Flutter framework, specifically during weekends. Job description

Overview

This role is responsible for leading the Restaurant Service (RS) and Transportation Backend DevOps team for the supply chain vertical business lines (VBL’s). The team delivers the backend components of multiple products:

  • CFA Supply App – Android/IOS/Ipad app that puts supply chain in the hands of restaurant operators and enables customer support.
  • RoutCFA App – Android app used by drivers and transportation managers. A critical app that guides drivers through nightly deliveries and safety‑related processes.
  • Supply Hub – Web‑based portal for master‑data configuration, ad‑hoc communications to restaurants, restaurant onboarding, and transportation business processes.

This highly productive team delivers releases in an agile fashion to continuously improve existing functionality and deliver new functionality. As a DevOps team, we provide 24/7 on‑call operational support for all developed solutions. The leader must ensure the team designs for failure, intensely addresses root causes, and fixes issues so operational load stays low as system load and complexity increase.

The team works closely with multiple business partners, product owners, designers, and front‑end engineering teams to create and support impactful products.

About Chick‑fil‑A Supply and Bay Center Foods

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick‑fil‑A, Inc., Chick‑fil‑A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick‑fil‑A restaurants.

The Chick‑fil‑A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components:

  • Distribution Center – State‑of‑the‑art warehouses that house supply for Chick‑fil‑A restaurants.
  • Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick‑fil‑A restaurants.
  • Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick‑fil‑A restaurants.

Our Flexible Future model offers a healthy mix of working in person and virtually, strengthening key elements of the Chick‑fil‑A culture by fostering collaboration and community.

Responsibilities
  • Own solution architecture decisions for the team’s product.
  • Lead delivery and operations of the team’s product, balancing leadership and engineering contributions.
  • Mentor, assess, and lead other staff engineers; exemplify best practices, solve complex problems, review code, and share stories.
  • Interview, select, onboard, and oversee contract engineers.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of products outside the team; develop tools and processes for use outside the team; mentor other engineers or lead engineers outside the team.
  • Guide partner‑led engineering workstreams, contributing to solution design and code reviews.
  • Guide the engineering team in adopting Chick‑fil‑A software engineering standards.
  • Identify and propose emerging software engineering technologies, methodologies, and approaches.
  • Drive operational and engineering excellence for the DevOps team.
  • Gain deep understanding of business processes across the supply chain to maximize impact and operate at a high level.

Note – Working in a DevOps model, this opportunity includes both building and running solutions that may require off‑hour support. This support is shared among team members to cover weekends and weeknights. The goal is to design for failure and, using cloud‑native infrastructure patterns, automate responses to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours.
