Job description

Location:Tooele, Utah
Shift: Thurs-Sat 6:30 PM-7:00 AM, subject to change based on business need
Job Summary
Forklift Operators support the shipping department with the movement of materials and products, including taking part in warehouse organizing and finished goods inspection, taking product off the production line and putting it away in designated locations in the warehouse, loading and unloading customer trucks.
Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-shift forklift inspections on forklift.
  • Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed.
  • Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored.
  • Visually inspect material for quality defects; Segregate defective product and notify supervisor.
  • Fill dumpsters from production floor; Housekeeping of plant (inside and out).
  • Work as a team with production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
  • Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep it organized.
  • Fill in on other areas of the plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as required.
  • Assists forklift operator II as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
  • Prior experience operating a propane sit-down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow CWT's policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
  • Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
Education and Experience:
  • Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED is Preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
  • Hours worked: 8-10 hours/shift, varies on shift schedule and business volume.
  • Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.
  • Heavy, stationary machinery on manufacturing floor.
