Job description

Opportunity

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide on-site medical and wellness services within a federally supported residential youth program in Sedro-Woolley, Washington 98284.

Our client operates a comprehensive residential program serving young adults, ages 1624. The program's mission is to prepare participants for meaningful employment and independent living.

This role provides direct clinical services to students and collaborates closely with residential and program staff in a structured, community-based environment.

Position Overview

This is a temporary contract position with, up to 40 hours per week.

Schedule: MondayFriday (on-call option)
Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
No weekends required
Location: On-site in Sedro-Woolley, WA (no telehealth or remote option)

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will support the Health & Wellness program through direct patient care, prevention initiatives, health education, and coordination with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary staff.

Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will provide on-site nursing services within the scope of practice under the applicable state nurse practice act and facility Wellness Guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Triaging urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Providing first aid, clinical assessments, and basic treatment
  • Monitoring students with chronic health conditions
  • Administering medications and assisting with examinations
  • Preparing and dispensing medications for overnight and weekend student use as authorized
  • Coordinating referrals and follow-up care with healthcare providers
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation and records
  • Tracking laboratory results, immunizations, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Delivering individual and group health education sessions
  • Maintaining medical and prescription supply inventories
  • Providing staff training on health and wellness topics
  • Collaborating with community healthcare partners and program leadership
  • Supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment
  • Identifying potential health, behavioral, learning, or mental health concerns and referring students as appropriate
  • Mentoring students through professional role modeling and participation in program initiatives as assigned
QualificationsLicensure

Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license in the State of Washington.

Client Preferences includes:

  • Older youth experience preferred, particularly in a school or residential setting
  • Calm under pressure
  • Excellent documentation and note-taking skills
  • Ability to identify potential learning disabilities and/or mental health concerns
  • Experience preparing medications for overnight and weekend administration
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical, school-based, residential, or community health setting required.

Experience working with adolescents or young adults preferred.

Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program required.

Additional nursing certifications are preferred.
