Job description

The Senior Financial Analyst Opportunity:

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for advanced financial analysis, reporting, and accounting functions to support strategic and operational decision-making across North Central Health Care (NCHC). This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintains compliance with regulatory and accounting standards, and provides actionable insights through financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance metrics. This position collaborates closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate financial performance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and drive continuous improvement in financial operations and reporting. This role requires a self-directed, independent contributor capable of leading projects and executing work autonomously while collaborating effectively across the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The starting pay range for this role is $75,712 - $82,430, based on education and experience.
  • This position on-site in Wausau, WI. Applicants must be local or able to commute for this role.
  • PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, on-site bistro and cafeteria, pharmacy, newly updated facility, life insurance, accident insurance, hospital insurance, employee assistance program, and employee discounts.
  • As a full-time employee of NCHC, you are eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is a hybrid defined benefit plan. It contains elements of both a 401(k) or defined contribution plan and a defined benefit plan. Participating staff contribute 7.2% and NCHC will match this at 100% each pay period!

What Qualifies You:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Three or more years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship, including but not limited to visa sponsorship or employment-based immigration support.

Preferred:

  • CPA, CMA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Experience within healthcare, government or public sector.

What an Senior Financial Analyst does at NCHC:

  • Perform detailed general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze financial results, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and present financial reports and insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
  • Participate in internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and work papers
  • Supports compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify financial risks, errors, or inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with departments to interpret financial data and improve financial performance
  • Lead or support cross-functional financial projects and system/process improvements
  • Maintain and enhance financial models and reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior accounting/finance staff
  • Serve as a financial resource for program managers and leadership across the organization
  • Provides training, mentorship, and work direction to junior staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
