Overview
This is a fully onsite position responsible for leading and managing all functions of the Finance department. The role oversees core financial operations, ensures compliance, drives financial planning, and partners closely with leadership to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all finance functions including general ledger, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and trust/IOLTA accounting
  • Supervise processes related to financial data gathering and reporting
  • Review and approve workflows, write-offs, overpayments, payroll processing, and audits
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with leadership and present for approval
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and report variances to senior leadership and the Board
  • Conduct profitability analysis and deliver financial presentations to stakeholders
  • Prepare compensation-related financial reports and analysis
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment of excess funds
  • Oversee retirement plans in coordination with internal committees
  • Act as liaison with external auditors and accounting partners
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance
  • Oversee insurance policies and vendor negotiations related to finance operations
  • Support leadership as a key financial advisor and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in finance/accounting with leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience managing finance or accounting teams
  • Experience within professional services environment preferred (organization name redacted)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Experience with financial/legal management systems is a plus (system name redacted)
