Job description

The Industrial Radiographer/Film Interpreter is responsible for performing interpretation of radiographs to evaluate weld quality, including evaluation of both pipe and structural welds in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review film in accordance with specification applicable for part and class
  • Review radiographic technique forms for completeness and accuracy
  • Documentation and maintenance of records
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards; develop solutions to complex problems; ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives
  • Exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion in determining long-term goals, objectives and approaches to assignments
  • Serve as a consultant to management and external contacts; represent the organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives; and be responsible for teaching/mentoring new analysts

Must be able to obtain EB Level II RT certification within one (1) year.

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI location. This is a second shift position - training will be done on first shift.

*Please note - candidate must be able to work other shifts based on business needs. 


Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of radiography experience- including minimum 1 year as certified Level I radiographer.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.(including weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to work other shifts as business needs.
  • Proof of any relevant OJT and /or certifications must be provided by the applicant in order to be considered.

Preferred:

  • Current level II certification IAW Tech Pub -271 / NAVSEA 250-1500-1 
    • ** proof of any relevant OJT and /or certifications must be provided by the applicant in order to be considered.
  • Previous radiography film interpretation experience. 
  • Experience shooting and viewing castings.
  • Previous radiography shooting qualifications/experience. 
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
