Schedule

Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Due to the seasonal nature of our business, flexibility to work adjusted schedules, overtime, weekends, or additional shifts may be required based on operational needs.

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician monitors production processes and food safety programs to ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, SQF, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role supports quality systems through product testing, audits, documentation review, environmental monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Collect product samples and perform required testing, documenting and reporting results accurately.
  • Maintain daily quality records and enter data into company systems.
  • Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and associated documentation.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and sanitation verification activities.
  • Conduct internal audits related to food safety, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support quality hold procedures for products that are outside specification.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Review production and quality documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Support training initiatives related to GMPs, food safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness and support environmental programs.
  • Monitor laboratory supply inventory and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Communicate quality and food safety concerns to QA leadership and plant management promptly.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all Albertsons Companies policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Qualifications Required
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Quality Control, or a related role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Windows-based systems, and mobile technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
  • HACCP Certification and/or SQF Practitioner Certification.
  • Experience with microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory (organoleptic) testing.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
