Their responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, assisting ophthalmic surgeons during operations, monitoring patient vital signs, and providing post-operative care and education. These RNs must be skilled in both clinical and patient communication aspects, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. Working weekends allows these centers to accommodate patients with busy weekday schedules and helps the RNs maintain a flexible work-life balance.

Collaboration is key, as you’ll coordinate care, anticipate the surgical team’s needs, and communicate effectively with both patients and their families.
