Their duties include assessing security risks, planning secure transportation routes, monitoring for potential threats, and providing close personal protection. These professionals often work during weekends to cover periods when their clients may be more active or vulnerable. They typically have backgrounds in law enforcement, military, or private security, and are trained in risk assessment, defensive driving, and emergency response. The goal is to ensure the safety and privacy of clients during their weekend activities.

To address these, it's important to maintain strong situational awareness, engage in regular training, and build clear communication channels with clients and team members. Flexibility and adaptability are also key, as assignments can change quickly depending on the client's needs and environment.

Armed & Unarmed Security Officers - FT (Retail and Patrol)

Corporate Crime Control Protective Services

Portland, OR

Job description

About the Role
At CCCPS, security is more than standing post. It’s about judgment, accountability, and being a visible, professional presence that keeps employees and customers safe.
We’re currently hiring armed and unarmed officers for retail-based assignments throughout the Portland-Metro area. This is not a loss prevention role. While situational awareness and deterrence matter, the primary focus is protecting people, de-escalating issues, and responding appropriately when situations arise.
This is a hands-on security role. Officers are expected to intervene when appropriate, not merely observe and report.
This is a full-time position in retail and patrol environments. We are specifically looking for an officer with open availability - weekdays, weekends, various shifts.
Officers who demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, and professionalism may be considered for specialized assignments, including executive protection, media security, workplace violence response, secured transports, and event services.
If you’re adaptable, dependable, and looking for meaningful security work with long-term potential, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do

  • Patrol assigned retail locations (on foot or by vehicle, as applicable) to maintain visibility and deter unwanted activity
  • Enforce site-specific access control procedures
  • Exclude or remove trespassers when appropriate
  • Respond to suspicious activity, incidents, or emergencies
  • Act as a calm, professional presence in both routine and high-stress situations
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, or EMS when necessary
  • Take appropriate, lawful action when required, including detaining individuals to protect employees, customers, or property, in accordance with training, policy, and Oregon law
  • Complete clear, accurate daily activity and incident reports
What We’re Looking For

  • Prior security, military, or public safety experience preferred
  • Valid Oregon DPSST license (armed and/or unarmed)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills; must be able to remain calm, professional, and respectful when interacting with a wide range of personalities, including demanding or high-conflict individuals

  • Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
  • Availability to work all days/shifts and pick up additional coverage shifts as needed
  • Physically able to stand or walk for extended periods
Driving Requirements (Patrol Assignments as Applicable)
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for assignments involving a company vehicle.
Appearance Standards
Professional appearance matters. Officers are expected to wear company-issued uniforms or assigned plainclothes attire and follow basic grooming standards.
  • Neatly trimmed facial hair is permitted
  • Hair of any length and conservative color is acceptable (must be tied back if long)
  • Conservative earrings are acceptable; facial piercings must be removed or replaced with flesh-colored retainers while on duty
Why Join CCCPS?

  • Guaranteed hours
  • Frequent opportunities for additional shifts and overtime
  • Clear path toward promotion
  • Hands-on training and professional development
  • Health and dental insurance options
  • A leadership team that actually knows your name
Want to be more than just a warm body in a uniform?
