Job description

Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Day Trip Assistant is responsible for escorting Day Trip program participants to specified locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Escort participants to and from day trips as assigned by the Program Manager.
  2. Facilitate the completion of the general waiver forms prior to the start of each trip.
  3. Record attendance throughout the day.
  4. Distribute trip-related documentation including but not limited to event tickets and area maps.
  5. Provide companionship for participants traveling alone.
  6. Supervise the boarding and disembarking of participants on the motorcoach.
  7. Provide an exceptional customer service experience and promote District services and facilities.
  8. Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain on-going open communication with the Program Manager to obtain updated trip schedules or cancellations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of basic computer software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of readiness and preparedness in handling emergency situations.
  • Ability to display professionalism with participants.
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within two (2) months of hire.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Subject to both office and outside environmental conditions.
  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedules including evenings and weekends.
  • Subject to the terrain inherent with the trip destinations.
  • Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
