Job description

Ultrasound Technologist<. >

·         About Facility:

o    11 licensed beds

o    Free Standing ED – Trauma patients are possible as it is an ED, but there is no Trauma designation.

o    We offer 24/7 on-site X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound services

o    Outpatient imaging is also provided at this location – dayshift only

o    Stroke Center

o    Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

·         Unit Information:

o    Average patients/day? 9

o    Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year as an US Tech and in an ED setting is required

o    Will you accept a first-time traveler? Dependent on experience

·         Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o    ED and outpatients at this location

o    Freestanding Emergency Room setting. Typically, OB 1 trimester, venous leg(s)/arm(s), small parts, abdomen, testicular and ovarian torsion exams ordered but as an ED, can be anything.

·         Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

o    ARDMS

o    BLS

·         Skills required:

    • General ED US imaging

o    Assist DX/CT with moving patients, transporting patients if busy

·         Support within the Department:

o    Department leadership

·         Technology/Equipment:

    • EMR: EPIC
    • RIS: Epic Radiant
    • PACS: Philips iSite
    • Department specific Equipment:
      • Siemens Sequoia’s
      • Trophon

·         Floating: If yes, where?

o    None

·         Orientation (facility and unit):

o    1-2 days departmental at site (Mtn. Island FSED)

·         Scheduling:

o    Weekend rotation: Dependent on requisition

o    No call

o    Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work if scheduled

o    RTO: Manager approval

o    Shift times: dependent on requisition

o    Schedule cycle: 6-week schedule
