Job description

Overview

Otterbein has an employment opportunity for an Environmental Services Supervisor. Serves as a working supervisor with responsibilities for cleaning of various areas as needed along with providing supervisory oversight to all housekeeping partners to ensure work assignments are complete and work output meets or exceeds facility standards. In addition, covers for staff vacations or absences as necessary. This position is Full-Time and may include weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of Housekeeping and Laundry Services to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Supervise Housekeeping and Laundry Partners, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ensure resident rooms, common areas, offices, and public spaces consistently meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Oversee campus laundry operations, including resident personal laundry, linen processing, and inventory management.
  • Develop staffing schedules and monitor productivity to ensure appropriate coverage across all service areas.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain department supplies, equipment, and linen inventories while managing departmental expenses.
  • Collaborate with Nursing, Maintenance, Dining, and other departments to support resident care and campus operations.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, OSHA requirements, CMS regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in state and federal surveys and develop corrective action plans related to Environmental Services findings.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service by promptly addressing resident, family, and partner concerns.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities and maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and Partners.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience: Supervisory experience preferred. Minimum two years' experience working in housekeeping
