Job description

HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Greenville, South Carolina. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional with 2–3 years of experience to work on a variety of environmental consulting projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support clients across industrial, commercial, and governmental sectors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental site assessments, field investigations, regulatory compliance, and technical reporting, along with a strong commitment to safety and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Perform field investigations including soil, groundwater, sediment, and soil vapor sampling.
  • Support environmental due diligence, site characterization, and remediation projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and regulatory documentation.
  • Assist with environmental compliance projects related to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, laboratories, and field activities.
  • Evaluate environmental data and support development of conclusions and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and project team members.
  • Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast and beyond as needed.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of environmental consulting or related professional experience.
  • Experience conducting environmental field investigations and sampling activities.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong technical writing and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform field work, including walking uneven terrain and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
  • Experience and licenses for hazardous material consulting, including asbestos, lead paint and mold/IAQ.
  • Knowledge of North and South Carolina environmental regulations.
  • Experience supporting remediation projects.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain).
  • GIS experience is a plus.
