Job description

Department: Patient Transfer Center
Shift details: Full Time, 3pm-11:30pm, Mon - Fri, no weekends
Summary
The Dispatcher will coordinate, control, and dispatch all levels of service and patient transportation for JHS.
Responsibilities
  • Receives calls from JHS employees for patient transportation related services.
  • Calls vendors for the proper units for patients discharges.
  • Ascertains pertinent information from the caller to determine level of service transport for the patient.
  • Investigates service inquiries, incident reports, and customer service related issues.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports assigned by MTC manager.
  • Works in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Ensures that all contractual requirements are met successfully.
  • Works with other departments to identify emerging trends.
  • Participates in training sessions for Dispatcher Certification.
  • Assists with development of goals and objectives for the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience
  • Preferred qualifications include knowledge of medical terminology and prior medical experience, such as work as a medical assistant, EMT, or in a medical office setting.
  • Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.

Education
  • High School diploma is required.

Credentials
  • Non-licensed worker.
