Job description

Voxel is seeking an Electrolyte Systems & Chemical Process Engineer to lead a critical part of our advanced manufacturing technology: electrolyte reliability, quality, delivery, treatment, and control.

Voxel is a leader in Pulsed Electrochemical Machining (PECM), an advanced manufacturing process used to machine specialty metal alloys for aerospace, energy, medical, semiconductor, and other high-value applications. Our mission is to use PECM and related manufacturing technologies to supply critical parts to customers solving difficult engineering problems.

At Voxel, electrolyte is not a background utility. It is one of the core drivers of our process performance. Chemistry, cleanliness, temperature, flow, conductivity, and pH control directly affect part quality, production uptime, and our ability to develop new applications. This role is a chance to build and own a production‑critical discipline that sits at the intersection of chemistry, fluid handling, process control, equipment reliability, safety, and production.

We need someone who can improve existing systems, make chemical process equipment run reliably, develop new treatment and delivery approaches, and support chemical operations. This is not a pure lab role and not a pure facilities role. The right person will understand the chemistry, design practical systems, define operating windows, troubleshoot problems, and work hands‑on with engineers and technicians to make industrial systems run consistently.

Strong candidates may come from chemical processing, industrial wastewater treatment, metal finishing, electroplating, electropolishing, semiconductor wet processing, industrial water treatment, specialty chemicals, batteries, or similar environments where chemistry, equipment, compliance, and uptime all matter.

You should be comfortable in a small, fast‑growing company where people wear multiple hats, solve problems directly, and take ownership of outcomes.

You align with Voxel’s core values: Expect Excellence, DoRightByOthers,Always Getting Better, What Would Happen If…

Job Description
  • Lead Voxel’s electrolyte systems and chemical process strategy
  • Improve reliability of electrolyte treatment, delivery, monitoring, and waste‑management systems
  • Troubleshoot issues with pumps, leaks, filtration, temperature control, conductivity, pH, flow, and process stability
  • Design and support new systems for production and development applications
  • Maintain electrolyte quality through sampling, monitoring, operating limits, and process controls
  • Define what needs to be measured, logged, alarmed, and controlled in partnership with the controls team
  • Manage multiple chemical waste streams according to applicable compliance requirements
  • Support safe chemical operations involving acids, bases, salts, metals, and related process chemicals
  • Create procedures, maintenance plans, operating windows, and training materials
  • Support scale‑up of related chemical processes such as passivation, electropolishing, neutralization, waste remediation, and unique R&D projects
  • Get hands‑on to diagnose, repair, clean, or improve chemical process equipment
Qualifications
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience; more senior candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with industrial chemical systems outside of a pure lab environment
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with pumps, plumbing, fluid handling, process equipment, or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of chemical process monitoring such as pH, conductivity, temperature, concentration, or contamination
  • Familiarity with sensors, filtration, dosing, heat exchange, tanks, valves, and similar process equipment
  • Strong safety mindset around chemical storage, handling, PPE, and waste handling
  • Ability to work independently, document clearly, and take ownership of a critical technical discipline
  • MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Due to U.S. government contract requirements, all employees must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with a valid I‑551 card (green card). Work Visas are not acceptable. Employment eligibility will be verified as part of the hiring process.
  • Submittal of a cover letter describing why you are interested in working at Voxel and our mission.
Why Join Voxel?

We invest in our people. As a new hire, you will work closely with our team to master Voxel’s proprietary electrochemical manufacturing processes. We value curiosity and technical aptitude; we provide the hands‑on environment and mentorship necessary to build expertise in advanced manufacturing systems that aren’t found anywhere else.

  • Real Impact: You are building tangible products for the aerospace, medical, and energy industries. You see the direct result of your work.
  • Innovation‑Driven Culture: We align with our core values: Expect Excellence, Do Right By Others, Always Getting Better, and What Would Happen If…
  • Comprehensive Support: We offer competitive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off to ensure you and your family are supported.
