We have an opportunity for an electrical engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in antenna and radome measurements, including near field range tests, near-field to far-field transformation knowledge, and solid understanding of array and AESA technologies. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of electromagnetic simulation tools and analytical tools.

Demonstrated lead experience at the technical and programmatic level is valued. We are looking for team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience.  Senior principal engineers are expected to contribute technically but also understand programmatic issues. Mentorship of junior engineers and developing the next generation of subject matter experts is also a critical skill we are looking for.

What You Will Do

  • Measurements of AESAs in a near field range
  • Mentorship of junior engineers
  • Data processing and analyzing measurement results in MATLAB, developing new tools when COTS solutions are insufficient
  • Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required
  • This role may include 2nd and 3rd shift as well as weekend shifts.

Typical 2nd Shift Hours:

Sunday - Wednesday or Saturday - Wednesday

2pm-12am

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 experience to include any combination of the following:
  • Antenna or radar analysis and hardware design and test
  • Measurement and data processing of near field range results
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab

   
Qualifications We Prefer

  • Background measuring and analyzing near field range tests
  • Lead experience at the technical and programmatic levels
  • Propensity for learning through self-study, and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment
  • Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management
  • Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
  • Strong hands on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
  • Secret clearance or interim clearance on day 1
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR PhD degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
