Job description

Commercial Electrician (California Certified)

Full-Time | Commercial Projects | Solar Industry

Location: California (varied job sites)

Solar Gain is hiring a California-certified Electrician to support our growing portfolio of commercial solar projects. While we’re a solar company, let’s be clear upfront: this role is 100% heavy-duty commercial electrical work. No residential installs, no panel mounting—just solid, professional electrical work on complex job sites.

If you’re an electrician who takes pride in clean installs, code compliance, and getting power flowing the right way the first time, we want to talk.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform commercial and industrial electrical work on solar-related projects

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems including switchgear, conduits, transformers, and service equipment

  • Read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and one-lines

  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, state, and local codes

  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades on active job sites

  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency

What We’re Looking For
  • California-certified Electrician (required)

  • Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical work

  • Strong understanding of NEC and commercial electrical standards

  • Ability to work on varied job sites and adapt to different project environments

  • Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented (the “close enough” mindset need not apply)

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base pay

  • Prevailing wages paid when required by project

  • Full-time, year-round work

  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact commercial projects

  • Supportive team that respects skilled trades (and doesn’t confuse electricians with roof acrobats)

Why Solar Gain

We’re building serious infrastructure that supports the clean energy transition—and we know it only works when the electrical side is done right. You’ll be valued for your expertise, trusted to do your job, and paid fairly for the level of skill you bring.
