Job Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Rice Family Dentistry – Winfield, KS
Position Type: Full-Time (32 hours per week, Monday – Thursday)
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $15-18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for dental treatments, ensuring their comfort.
• Assist the dentist during a variety of examination and treatment procedures.
• Fabricate and fit temporary crowns with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Perform complete child prophylaxis (pediatric cleanings) confidently and compassionately.
• Set up and break down treatment rooms using proper infection control protocols.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure all equipment is clean and functional.
• Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and treatment notes using Eaglesoft dental software.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral care education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer at least 1 year of Dental Assisting experience
• Dental Assistant certification or relevant chairside experience is preferred.
• Temporary crown fabrication is preferred, or a willingness to learn this skill.
• Kansas Supragingival Scaling and Coronal Polishing certification is highly preferred.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is preferred, or a willingness to undergo training to obtain it.
• Experience with Eaglesoft dental software is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and a warm, empathetic patient manner (especially with children).
