Position Summary

The Fuel Transportation Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of fuel products to designated destinations, ensuring full compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety standards, and company policies. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and professionalism when representing the company with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Fuel Delivery & Operations

  • Safely operate fuel delivery trucks to transport fuel to assigned locations
  • Load and unload fuel products following all safety protocols and company procedures
  • Verify delivery accuracy and maintain thorough records of all fuel transfers
  • Ensure tanks, hoses, and valves are properly connected and secured during deliveries

Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance

  • Conduct complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles
  • Report maintenance needs or mechanical issues promptly to the appropriate department
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned truck and equipment at all times

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials
  • Follow company safety procedures, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Remain alert to potential hazards and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
  • Maintain current medical and DOT certifications in accordance with FMCSA standards

Customer Service & Representation

  • Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites to ensure satisfaction and resolve inquiries
  • Represent the company positively through courteous communication and professional conduct
  • Collaborate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately complete delivery logs, fuel tickets, and required documentation
  • Maintain current driver and vehicle records in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Submit all paperwork in a timely and organized manner as required by company policy

Emergency Response Preparedness

  • Be trained and prepared to respond to emergency situations while on duty or driving
  • Follow all emergency and spill containment procedures as outlined in safety training

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience required
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials
  • Previous experience in fuel delivery or petroleum transport strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of safe fuel handling and spill prevention practices
