Job Summary:

The main objective and purpose of this position consist in providing safe, efficient, prompt, and courteous pick-up and delivery service for compressed gases and welding supplies. The driver will plan daily routes based on dispatched items, load and unload trucks, maintain accurate logs and transport documentation, and collaborate closely with internal teams and customers while promoting Air Liquide's safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous delivery of cylinder gases and welding supplies; pick up empty cylinders as required; maintain a personal liaison with Customers, Account Executives, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams.

  • Load and unload trucks efficiently with team members in accordance with regulations; plan out the day based on dispatched items; drive to required sites, pick up empties, and offload trucks upon return.

  • Ensure proper maintenance and general appearance of the truck and equipment; report any system-related problems immediately to the CMS team.

  • Inspect all cylinder shipments and returns; tag damaged or defective cylinders with customer details and documentation; record issues and customer complaints in the Quality System.

  • Issue accurate delivery notes and receipts to ensure correct invoicing; maintain accurate truck records (PANDA, TDG, WHMIS documentation, highway log) following all CMS procedures.

  • Operate vehicles, tools, dock plates, and tailgates safely; fully participate in ALC's safety program; report unsafe conditions or accidents immediately to the Supervisor or Safety Champion; advise customers on proper handling and storage of cylinders.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.

  • Valid Class 3 Driver's License with air brake endorsement, along with an acceptable driver's abstract.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the delivery industry.

  • Mechanical ability and good communication skills.

  • Knowledge of compressed gases and basic welding processes.

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification and MS Office skills are strong assets.

  • Physical capability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
