Job Description: Document Control Specialist

Location: 14000 Alabama Highway 20, Madison, AL

Department: Operations Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for document controlling our drivers in/out of our terminal location, as well as processing all delivered paperwork for Carter LOGISTEED Express. The Document Control Specialist ensures drivers have all necessary paperwork/tools to be successful on their route. All driver paperwork is audited, scanned, indexed, and sent to accounting for processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process paperwork, emails, and communicate between dock personnel and other facilities.
  • Handle all department related phone calls.
  • Work and collaborate with Dispatch by filing and processing paperwork.
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
  • Communicate well with internal and external drivers and companies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.


EXPERIENCE:

Preferred experience in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain. Must have a close attention to detail. Must be able to work as a team and collaborate. Must be able to communicate and listen effectively to team members. Knowledge of standard warehouse and DOT policy preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

COMPUTER SKILLS:


Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs, and applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer. TMW Knowledge is a plus.
