Position Summary

OVERLAND CHARTERS Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring all charter operations to ensure efficient, safe, and timely service. This role

serves as the central communication point between clients, drivers/crew, maintenance, and management. The dispatcher will manage trip assignments, maintain accurate

records, and respond quickly to operational changes or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Coordination
  • Schedule and assign charter trips according to customer requests and company availability.
  • Coordinate drivers, to ensure proper staffing and compliance with dutytime regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute trip itineraries and route information.
  • Ensure all vehicles are ready, fueled, and meet safety requirements.
    • Communication
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal departments.
  • Provide trip details, updates, and changes promptly and clearly.
  • Manage realtime communication during trips to handle delays, issues, or

    • emergencies.

    Operations Monitoring
  • Track the status and location of charters using dispatch or tracking systems.
  • Respond to and resolve operational problems (weather delays, equipment issues, schedule conflicts).
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager to ensure equipment’s readiness and report

    • mechanical concerns.

    Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, schedules, and operational records.
  • Process required paperwork, billing information, and customer documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company

    • standards.

    Working Conditions
