The Payments Platform is key to powering Capital One's current and future financial products. As a Senior Product Leader, you will spearhead the strategic evolution of this platform, leveraging emerging innovations to unlock transformative value for our customers and the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who thrives on solving the industry's most complex payment challenges. Adept at navigating ambiguity and possessing a deep passion for architecting elegant platform solutions, this leader will bridge the gap between business intent and engineering excellence, partnering with technical leads to build systems that are as robust as they are innovative. As part of the role, the Director of Product will:

  • Create a long-term roadmap that supports a broader enterprise vision and industry trends

  • Engage Lines of Business (LOBs) to define, prioritize and build reusable capabilities to support payment strategies across the company

  • Partner closely with Tech to ensure that the platform architecture can support existing and emerging value drivers

  • Collaborate with Program to create and maintain well-defined and sustainable communication channels with our LOB partners

  • Ensure the platform is accurate and performant

  • Develop and align on the platform's data posture

  • Drive tooling to improve reconciliation

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Product Management


New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900 for Director, Product Management


Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
