Job description


POSITION SUMMARY
**The ideal candidate will have experience Working with various HAND TOOLS and POWER TOOLS, reading blueprints, and utilizing tape measures etc.... Any Mounting experience is a bonus. Primarily, you need to have experience with POWER TOOLS and HAND TOOLS - drills, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, etc. As a note we do Not have Air Conditioning in the plant. The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for safely and effectively preparing and assembling mechanical components from intake to shipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a positive, solutions-focused, and productive attitude in support of plant goals for reliability, safety, integrity, quality, and overall performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to assemble mechanical components using hand tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment.
  • Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment to transport components within the facility.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify and address issues during assembly and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve production challenges and meet daily targets.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks and support engineering or electrical teams when needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including parts assembled and quantities completed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Prior experience using hand tools and operating forklifts
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience or prior certification in operating overhead cranes
  • Familiarity with mechanical fitting in a manufacturing or industrial environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to routinely lift 50+ lbs and transport objects as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, squatting, and climbing
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may exceed 100°F or fall below 32°F, including exposure to environmental elements
