Job description

Analyst or Senior Analyst, based on experience

Chicago, IL Hybrid - 3 days/week in office Full-time Occasional US-based travel

Grandview Analytics is a consulting firm that helps asset managers, asset owners, administrators, and fintech providers get more value from their investment data and technology. We’re hiring an Investment Data Analyst to join our client engagement teams on projects to help drive data, technology, and process improvements for our financial industry clients.

This role is a strong fit if you have at least three years of investment data analysis, operations, or middle-office experience with the fixed income asset class and are ready to broaden that experience through project work across multiple clients and technology platforms.

Why Make the Move to Consulting

Client-facing from the start – you’ll work directly alongside client stakeholders and Grandview’s experienced financial industry consultants, building a track record and network across multiple firms.

Broader exposure – you’ll see how different asset managers, administrators, and fintechs solve similar problems across multiple asset classes and technology platforms, which widens your capability set for future consulting projects and career paths or for a future move back to a single firm perspective in a more strategic data and technology leadership role.

Career path options – you’ll experience different ways to grow and lead within the firm – that may include capability/practice area expertise, client delivery leadership, corporate functions and management. Grow your career and be a part of growing Grandview.

Hands-on mentorship – you’ll learn and grow from experienced investment industry consultants, and have access to job-relevant certifications (examples: CFA, Microsoft PowerApps, Snowflake, Certified Scrum Master)

Base salary: $80,000-$110,000, plus an annual performance-based bonus

Paid time off and paid holidays

Health care, life and disability insurance, and 401(k) plan

A Day in the Life

You’ll use your investment industry and data analysis skills to support transformational data and technology projects as part of Grandview’s consulting engagement teams. Our clients are buy-side asset managers, asset owners, administrators, and fintech providers. You’ll work alongside Grandview’s experienced consultants, client stakeholders, industry fintech vendors, and other market participants such as trustees, custodians, fund administrators, market data providers, RIAs, and prime brokers. Example Consulting Engagement Assignments

Your role is a critical one for all of Grandview’s consulting engagements - understand, extract, analyze, cleanse, map, migrate and test data for client transformation initiatives such as:

Implementing or enhancing investment or accounting book of record systems, order management systems, compliance and reporting systems, investor portals, and portfolio management dashboards

Extracting, cleansing, organizing, and integrating data across multiple systems for streamlined processes, data lineage, data quality reporting, and insightful dashboards

Redesigning and documenting business requirements, workflows, and procedures

Preparing data visualizations using BI/AI tools to report on data, testing, or other metrics

What You'll Bring & Use on Day 1

Investment Industry Experience – at least 3 years of direct investment industry experience working with fixed income data and technology in a front-, middle-, or back-office role (asset managers, fund managers, banks, trustees, fund/asset administrators, fintechs)

Investment Operations & Technology Experience – understanding of investment lifecycle operational functions and related technology platforms across trade, post-trade, portfolio management, investment accounting, performance and attribution, compliance and reporting

Data Extraction & Analysis Experience – hands-on experience using Advanced Excel, and SQL scripts to extract, load, and analyze large, complex data sets, as well as proficient understanding of database structures and tables

Data Research, Reporting & Visualization – use of BI/visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft PowerApps and familiarity with common AI tools for data research and reporting

Problem Solving & Solutions Mindset – a problem-solving approach to each challenge and comfort working independently on complex problems that span both business and technology, using curiosity, experimentation and incremental solutions to iterate effectively to achieve progress toward solutions

Professional Communication & Documentation – a client-focused approach to adding valuing and earning credibility with stakeholders that is built upon the use of regular, clear, accurate, concise and transparent verbal and written communication skills

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
