Job description

If you apply for this job, you are applying for employment at only the Lansing DQ, Located in the fine City of Lansing Kansas. You are not applying at any other locations thru this posting. You must be 16 years of age or above to be considered.

Crew Members play a critical role in delivering quality food, excellent service, and a clean, welcoming restaurant for every guest.

We have postions available for Front Line Team Members who are Customer facing and responsible for taking orders, making all soft serve products and making sure the customers receive there orders. We also have positions available for Team Members who are responsible for the backline production of our Hot Products such as our Famous Chicken Strips and our Hot and Tasty Sandwiches.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as an ambassador of the Dairy Queen brand at all times
  • Enthusiastically Greet and serve guests with a friendly, upbeat attitude
  • Prepare food and treats quickly and according to Dairy Queen standards, recipes, and food-safety guidelines.
  • Safely operate and maintain restaurant equipment including grills, fryers, blenders, soft-serve machines, and other Chill & Grill equipment
  • Complete assigned prep work, stocking, and setup for Chill and/or Grill areas
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining room, restrooms, and surrounding areas
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Work as part of a team to deliver high quality products and excellent service
  • Work cooperatively with managers and fellow team members to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Notify management promptly of any issues, safety concerns, or unusual situations
  • Handle guest concerns professionally using Dairy Queen service standards
  • Assist with stocking, prep work, and cleaning duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or shift leaders

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Frequent movement throughout service areas (up to 40 customers per hour)
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures (grill, freezer, lobby, outside)
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and teamwork mindset
  • Ability to handle cleaning tasks involving food, spills, trash, and sanitizing solutions
  • Must be able to read order monitors and communicate orders clearly
  • Must be available for weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
