Job description

Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Analyst to join our team at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), supporting Air Mobility Combat (AMC) Intelligence Directorate (A2).. The Cyber Analyst will play a critical role in cybersecurity operations and system/network administration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cybersecurity operations and system/network administration to safeguard sensitive information and mission-critical systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of cyber defense measures to protect against emerging threats.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
  • Provide system/network administration support, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise and local network devices.
  • Liaise with the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) and Enterprise Service Center (ESC) to resolve technical issues and ensure system availability.
  • Ensure compliance with all security protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Some travel may be required (<10%).

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience Level:Minimum of 0 years with BS/BA; or 2 years with AS/AA or 4 years no degree
  • DOD 8140 Compliance based on DCWF code 462 Intermediate
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Expertise in cryptologic support, cybersecurity operations, and system administration.
  • Advanced knowledge in cyber defense tools, network security, and incident response methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cyber threat analysis and mitigation strategies.

  • Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, mission-critical environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a properly sequenced manner based on mission priorities.

  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting MAJCOM A2 or similar organizations.
  • Knowledge of cryptologic systems, tools, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
