View Point Health Adult Residential Substance Detoxification is a short-term, 24/7 acute care, detox unit located in Covington, GA. Care is primarily focused on supervision, observation, and support for individuals during withdrawal management. Residential Withdrawal Management is characterized by its emphasis on medical monitoring and/or on peer/social support. We are looking for a Residential Care Provider to join our multi-disciplinary team to monitor general client activity, observe and report behaviors of adult clients with a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health disorders who are experiencing sign of moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms. We provide person-centered care and assist with implementing our unit programming based on evidenced-based practices for substance use detox, brief treatment, and early recovery support. The position requires flexibility in job tasks and scheduling to accommodate needs of the facility to include some weekend and evening coverage. This facility requires alternating holiday coverage between all staff.

Under direct supervision, assists with daily living activities at the person's home, in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility. Provides training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills to consumers/students in a state school, hospital, juvenile detention facility, residence, group home, workshop, or supported employment environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors general client activity to observe and report behavior/progress of adult clients.
  • Maintains awareness of client behavior and physical whereabouts to ensure their safety during dining, showering, or other activities.
  • Observes and becomes familiar with each client's behavior and diagnosis.
  • Monitors clients for detection of any behaviorwhich could be injurious to self or others, or which is so unusual or atypical that immediate attention of professional staff is warranted.
  • When necessary for the physical safety of the client, use the least restrictive, agency-approved behavioral or physical intervention technique appropriate for the situation.
  • Secures assistance from and/or helps other staff in handling acute behavioral crisis situations.
  • Assists with admissions to include searching all clients to ensure no harmful items are brought into Detox unit.
  • Maintains the residence and building in a clean and organized condition to assure a safe, secure, and attractive environment for residents and staff. This may include removal of trash or debris from living/ recreational areas, cleanup after meals, wiping surfaces, etc.
  • Assists with discharge of clients to ensure all items are collected and given to the client at discharge.
  • Provides support to each resident in maintaining his/her personal living space ina clean and orderly manner.
  • Assists with visitation for clients.
  • Records clearly, concisely, and accurately all client care data and other documentation in medical records and other program records according to agency policy and applicable standards of care
  • Assists as back-up to kitchen staff and in preparing meals for clients.
  • Participates in change of shift meetings, treatment team meetings, staffing,and other sessions to provide the information about each resident necessary for implementation of an appropriate, individualized treatment plan.
  • Assists monthly in gathering customer service surveys.
  • Assists with psychoeducational groups and activities for clients throughout the day as needed.
  • Other program related duties as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and six (6) months of relevant job-related training or experience.

Note: Must be 21 years of age, have valid Georgia Driver's License, and a clean motor vehicle report.

Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.

Note: Some positions require a valid driver's license.
