Job description

Shift: 10PM -630AM with weekend and holiday rotation
The Certified Sterile Processing Technician Lead is responsible for overseeing daily sterile processing operations, ensuring the safe and timely decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. This role serves as a technical expert and departmental resource, guiding staff in best practices, coordinating inventory and equipment maintenance, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. The Lead Technician plays a key role in training, mentoring, and quality assurance efforts, working collaboratively with clinical teams to uphold infection control standards and optimize workflow efficiency across surgical services.

Education:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
License/Certifications:
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician from Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution OR
    Certified Surgical Technologist from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or Surgical Technician. Certified from National Center for Competency Testing is acceptable in conjunction with CRCST or CSPDT in conjunction with CRCST or CSPDT
  • Mandatory Reporter Certification (may be obtained with 90 days of hire date)
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of sterile processing or surgical services experience
