Job Summary:
DataServ/xFact is a technology solutions company with nearly 40 years of experience serving public and commercial sectors. The Network Design Engineer will collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to design innovative solutions that meet customer needs and manage the sales process effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Represent DataServ/xFact in a positive manner to colleagues, customer base and vendors
• Become familiar with DataServ/xFact policies and procedures, updating documentation when needed
• Work with Account Executives to develop and design appropriate solutions
• Work on the design, implementation and support of Compute and Infrastructure solutions
• Develop detailed quotes, drawings, Engagement Agreements and Scope of Work documents
• Function as a liaison between Sales team and Project implementation team
• Interact with manufacturer, vendor, and distribution representatives in support of the sales process.
• Manage sales quote requests to ensure they are completed within acceptable timeframes
• Implement effective workflow, and embrace best practices
• Effective collaborate with team to automate workflows and processes.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and customer meetings, driving solutions and providing follow up
• Participate in customer sales calls, demonstrations, and project meetings
• Develop and deliver sales presentations in conjunction with Sales team
• Perform assessments and site surveys to determine appropriate recommendations for customers
• Manage internal and external communication processes and activities
• Create and review site survey feedback to improve services, tools, and support experience
• Provide timely, efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers as applicable
• Advise leadership about situations that may require additional support or escalation
• Coordinate work and resources with other teams including, but not limited to, surveys, assessments, etc.
• Provide redundancy and backup support for other team members
• Lead by example, inspiring other team members and being a supportive team member to others
• Innovate and be open to change, actively researching new technologies
• Up to 10% travel may be required throughout southwest Ohio
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science; or related professional experience in design, implementation, and management of IT systems
• Five years' experience in the design, implementation and/or management of IT systems including networking, wireless, telephony and server systems. Experience in video security, physical security and/or cybersecurity desirable.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
• Travel to various company and customer sites as necessary
• Meet physical demands of the position including the ability to lift and handle up to 45 pounds of materials, bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of materials or equipment on shelving with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both collaborative team and customer-facing environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Candidates are required to complete a drug test and background check
• Must currently reside within 25 miles of Westlake, Ohio
Preferred:
• Experience in help desk support and/or pre-sales network design preferred
• Experience with technology manufacturers (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, HPE, Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo) preferred
• Networking and/or Compute certifications preferred
• Additional advanced certifications, certificates, and/or technical trainings as assigned
