(fluctuating weekend shifts)Type of Position:Exempt SalaryCompany:Supplies to restaurants, further processors,and major retailers including Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Jewel, Meijer, and Mariano's --- LONG STANDING, SUCCESSFUL COMPANY!Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor is responsible for directing workers to meet production goals and achieve company standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety and productivity. The supervisor works closely with many colleagues to achieve production goals.Summary of Essential Job Functions Creates an environment where work is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Reviews production from previous shift and makes adjustments to production schedule, if necessary. Directly supervises approximately 25-60 employees depending on department. Trains and cross-trains all department employees. Recommends salary adjustments, promotions, demotions, transfers and terminations of employees. Conducts performance evaluations for all introductory employees and employees who are being considered for termination. Recognizes employees for outstanding performance and provides guidance when improvement is needed. Notifies machine operators of daily production goals. Informs employees of their work assignments, work progress and opportunities for advancement. Communicates with the Quality Control Department on a daily basis to verify outcome of Pre Op. Monitors absenteeism and tardiness and approves requests for time off. Schedules vacations and submits vacation requests to the Human Resources Department for verification. Reviews and approves employee timekeeping reports and schedules overtime when necessary. Ensures all samples are run according to company procedures. Responsible for maintaining maximum production efficiencies. Reviews daily machine operator reports for accuracy and completion and submits to the quality assurance manager and plant manager. Effectively manages down times and works with maintenance, when necessary, to resolve machine problems quickly. Promptly informs scheduler and plant manager of all significant production delays. Works with human resources personneland/or plant manager to resolve employee issues regarding attendance, work performance and employee conduct. Responsible for completely and accurately entering daily production and labor reports in the System. Complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including those regarding nondiscrimination, sexual harassment and employee safety. Ensures all rules and regulations are observed by employees.Requirements Bilingual Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred) High school diploma or GED At least 5 years of supervisory experience in aMeat manufacturing setting Proficient in Microsoft Office products Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsPhysical Effort Required Lifting up to 25-60 lbs. depending on position Constant standing and walking. Occasional pushing and pulling.Work Environment and Physical Surroundings Exposure to cool temperatures, approximately 35to 40degrees. Noise Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch of level sufficient to cause marked distraction
