Job description

Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ self-motivated, hardworking individuals to assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service as well as surface grinding and welding. Qualified applicants will have extensive experience with maintenance and repairs. Supervisory experience or history leading teams greatly preferred. 12 hour 2/2/3 schedule 6am-6pm

Job Characteristics
  • Performs preventative maintenance repairs of all machinery and equipment oPreventative maintenance includes, but is not limited to, roll changes for Fenn machines, cleaning and flushing chiller units, etc.
  • Performs surface grinding on a daily basis oExamples include top/bottom die grinding, side die grinding, large screw press die grinding, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with related maintenance skills such as welding, engine lathes and CNC vertical milling machines oExperience working with machinery of equitable complexity is acceptable
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM as well as CAD/CAM applications to milling machines
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Performs mechanic duties such as welding, plumbing, electrical maintenance, lockout/tagout procedures, etc.
  • Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Oversees maintenance operations in the absence of Maintenance Supervisor
  • Required Skills
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics with high degree of accuracy
  • Able to read micrometers, tape measures, and calipers with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent people skills and interacts well with all levels of employees, including maintenance staff
  • Prioritizes tasks and delegates responsibilities in absence of Maintenance Supervisor
  • Selfdriven with a close attention to detail in a fastpaced environment
  • Written and verbal English communication skills
  • Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals
  • Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Adherence to attendance policy
  • Required Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrician, plumber, CAD, or other relevant certification
  • At least 8 year of maintenance related experience
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Preferred Education/Experience
  • Experience working in a tool or manufacturing environment
