What You’ll Do

HVE is seeking aCAD Drafterto support our Electrical Engineering team in Seattle. This role is ideal for an early to mid-career professional who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems design within a collaborative consulting engineering environment.

The CAD Drafter will work closely with project managers and electrical engineers to produce accurate construction documents and assist with the development and coordination of electrical drawings across multiple project types.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD under the direction of electrical engineers
  • Assist in developing power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system layouts
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Principles about the production of drawings and priority lists.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural)
  • Incorporate redlines, markups, and design revisions into construction documents
  • Support electrical engineers during design development and construction document phases
  • Help ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and firm drafting guidelines
  • Maintain and update files and documentation of project files.
Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter or similar role in an A/E or construction-related environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction documentation preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established drafting standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and designers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
What We Offer

This role is based out of our Mountlake Terrace office (with hybrid flexibility). We are targeting a base salary of$62,400 to $74,000, determined by several factors including education, experience, licensing, and a history of working in the Seattle area.
