Job description

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Friendly, outgoing, reliable and punctual
  • Professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Knowledge of basic math; ability to handle money with accuracy
  • Requires good communications skills; capacity to understand/follow oral and written orders
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with or without supervision
  • Available to work a combination of weekdays, weekend, holidays and occasional weeknights
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations

 

Focus

Tasks, Duties

  • Perform tasks as directed by the on duty shift supervisor, Assistant Recreation Director, or Recreation Director
  • Assist in running daily activities, special events, sports tournaments, and other projects as needed; some events may require working outside for long periods
  • Assist guests in signing up for classes
  • Assist guests in rental of equipment at location scheduled
  • Ensure guests are properly fill out liability forms needed to participate in activities
  • Ability to enforce safety rules for facilities and activities
  • Interact in a professional and courteous manner while supervising youth and adults participating in activities
  • Receiving and resolving guest complaints
  • Handling patronage statistics
  • Handling money and making correct change for rentals
  • Maintain equipment
  • Handle minor maintenance issues as they arise at the facility
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the resort amenities and facilities as needed
  • Performs other duties as requested

Communication/Team Involvement

  • Communicate with team members to increase productivity
  • Alert Supervisor/Assistant Recreation Director to any issues that may require attention
  • Provide assistance to the on duty shift supervisor, Assist Recreation Director and the Recreation Director as needed
  • Participate in the feedback loop that includes staff members at all levels to underscore the resort's team-oriented culture
  • Requires good communications skills both orally and written; capacity to understand and follow oral and written orders
  • Ability to provide a great customer experience; resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner; ability to handle reasonably necessary stress
  • Ability to accept and adjust to constructive criticism
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and public

  • Organize daily assignments to ensure efficient task completion
  • Implement time-saving or quality-improving production solutions

Physical Requirements:

  • Tasks require thorough perception and judgement
  • Tasks involve some physical effort, i.e. some standing, walking, and frequent light lifting (5-10 lbs.); infrequent moderately heavy lifting (20-50 lbs.); minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of shop or office equipment.
  • Some tasks may involve extended periods of sitting, standing and walking
