Woojin IS America, Inc. (WISA), situated in Santa Fe Springs, CA, has become a fast-growing company specializing in manufacturing electric equipment for rolling stock and light rail vehicles. We are currently serving North America customers with endless technological innovations for safe and reliable transportation equipment that supports the life of the vehicle.


Job Objective

Lead and coordinate the commissioning and validation activities of Light Rail Vehicles under the E-Suite modernization program. The Commissioning Supervisor ensures installation quality, test performance, issue resolution, and effective communication between the depot team, engineering, and the Project Manager. This position serves as the primary on-site technical and operational lead, ensuring project execution meets safety, quality, and schedule objectives.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Coordination

  • Plan, assign, and supervise daily activities of commissioning technicians and test personnel.
  • Ensure work is performed according to approved procedures, drawings, and safety standards.
  • Monitor installation progress and adjust priorities to maintain alignment with project milestones.
  • Mentor and train team members to strengthen troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Oversee employees' performance, provide feedback, and take corrective / disciplinary action if required


Technical Oversight

  • Oversee installation and commissioning of E-Suite systems and components on LRVs.
  • Perform and verify routine and validation tests, ensuring accurate results and reporting.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and coordinate corrective actions with engineering.
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure rework and modifications are properly documented.


Customer & Project Interface

  • Act as the primary on-site contact for the customer’s technical representatives.
  • Provide daily/weekly status updates and test progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, validation sessions, and joint troubleshooting with the customer.
  • Support warranty and field service activities, escalating technical or schedule risks proactively.


Quality & Reporting

  • Review test records, anomaly reports, and corrective actions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to test progress, open issues, and manpower.
  • Identify recurring issues and propose process improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.


Requirements


Education:

  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning, testing, or maintenance of electrical or control systems (rail, industrial, or automotive sectors preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising technical teams in a field or production environment.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, which includes 12VDC-72VDC. control logic, and subsystem integration.
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering documentation.
  • Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic ability for multi-system environments.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to interface with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with test documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and safety awareness.


Working Conditions & Other Requirements

  • Work performed primarily in a rail depot and heavy industrial environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors when required.
  • Must be flexible with shifts, overtime, and occasional weekend work based on project needs.
  • Must be able to work in tight, hot, humid, cold and wet environments.
  • International travel may be required for an extended period of time; therefore, must hold a valid passport or obtain one once hired.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range $90,000 – 120,000
