Video Editor

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled freelance Lead Video Editor with proven experience in broadcast post-production to support the daily Better Together series airing on TBN Networks. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who understands broadcast standards, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can deliver high-quality content for broadcast.

This position requires strong technical proficiency, creative storytelling ability, multi-camming knowledge and a commitment to accuracy and deadlines. A flexible schedule and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary are essential for this role. This is an in-studio position and must live in the DFW area, no remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit video content for broadcast, and digital distribution in compliance with network technical and creative standards
  • Manage all aspects of the post-production workflow โ€” from ingest to final delivery โ€” ensuring accuracy and consistency across all deliverables, detail oriented
  • Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and creative teams to shape compelling visual narratives and achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure strict compliance with broadcast specifications, including color space, aspect ratio, audio levels, and captioning requirements.
  • Identify and resolve technical and workflow issues to maintain efficient production and on-time delivery.
  • Stay current with evolving editing software, broadcast technologies, and emerging media trends.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility, including weekends and overtime, to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 5โ€“7+ years of professional experience in video editing, preferably within a broadcast, or agency environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects
  • In-depth understanding of broadcast terminology and specifications, including timecode, slates, bars & tone, and loudness standards
  • Strong storytelling, pacing, and editorial judgment skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail under tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • A professional demo reel showcasing broadcast-quality work

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with live or near-live broadcast workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud-based review and collaboration tools
  • Working knowledge of motion graphics, color grading, or sound design
